takeoff | From San Martino di Castrozza, you need to follow the sign for 'Malga Ces'. After 3 km. you will see the chair lift PUNTA CES - Time table on http://impiantices.it/skiarea-ces/orari/ (winter and summer seasons). If the chair lift will be closed, you need to follow the path for 'Punta Ces'. On top, at the arrive of the chair lift, you will see the refuge and below it, at the beginning of the slope 'Punta Ces', there is a TAKEOFF - Facing South. On your left side, you can see on top of the chair lift's pole, the anenometer. The teakeoff isn't really steep, so if the wind is not really strong, you need to run. |

landing | It is a Big flat area, located on North-West of the town (San Martino di Castrozza). Normally the valley breeze come from South East during the day but in the evening when the sun sets the wind could be from North. Be carefull because near it there is a helicopter landing area so just in case you hear it or see it, the good area to land is in some grass area located on South east of the San Martino di Castrozza. About the wind, keep on your mind the same rules like for the main landing area. |
weather | Weather Info: http://www.meteotrentino.it http://www.arpav.veneto.it Pay particular attention to moderate winds from Northwest, North and Northeast in general, in these conditions, the area becomes very dangerous and turbulent in summer, it's better don't fly. In any case, the flight in spring and summer in the central hours (12:00 to 16:00) is only recommended for experienced pilots sometime its easy to get RainStorm during the central hours.) just check the weather before to plan to come here. Anyway towards Morning it is possible for less experienced pilots to make a beautiful soaring flights (South, Southeast Takeoff). |
rules | No powered paragliding allowed. |
access | There are two main roads, one from Veneto (one hour by car from Bassano) and one from Trento - Bolzano. To Come from Trento, take the A22, exit at EGNA-ORA and follow the signs for 'VALLE DI FIEMME,' going through the towns of Cavalese, Moena, Predazzo. Then go towards Passo Rolle and Primerio until you reach San Martino di Castrozza. To come from Bassano go towards Trento until you see the sign for Fiera di Primiero, after Fiera continue to San Martino di Castrozza. |
