takeoff | 13°40'0.60'N; 88°50'23.51'W -Elevation:754m Orientation: East/South East This takeoff is managed by “Los Zopilotosâ€, your local flying club. All “Zopilotos†can fly without restrictions. Very easy take-off , wide and grassy, ideal for both paragliders and hangliders. Good access road that drives right to the launch. Both dynamic and thermic, this valley is among the areas most exposed to the sunlight in the whole country. Expect strong thermals in noon hours. With light wind excellent spot for top to bottom student flights. Ideal for tandem flights as well. Spectacular views of the valley and “Volcan de San Vicenteâ€. Dry Season Nov-May with the incidence of strong north winds in 2-4 day periods specially through Nov-Feb, but SE winds are predominant during the rainy season(june-november), making it flyable year round. |

landing | 13°39'35.04'N; 88°50'8.14'O – Elevation: 540 m Both the take off and the landings are easily accessible and well maintained year-round by “Los Zopilotosâ€. There is a dirt road which is a 5-8 minute drive down to the river (landing), so a high vehicle or SUV is most proper to use for pilot recovery. |
weather | Tropical conditions-no flight suits. Strong thermals around noon hours |

access | If you are in San Salvador, take the panamerican highway east, toward San Vicente. At km 51, take a right towards Tepetitan. 200 meters after your right turn, look for a water tank at your left hand side, there is a dirt road entrance onto the hill. Total driving time from San Salvador is around 1 hour. |
comments | Beautiful region of El Salvador, offering spectacular views of the valley and the volcano. There is another site nearby that faces southwest as well. Great spot for students, tandems, and ground handling. |
