rules | REPORTING OF PLANNED PG FLIGHTS TO MOST AIRPORT (LKMO)!!! At day you want to fly, but BEFORE you decide go to Zlatnik, call Most airport ATC !!! Mr. Václav Pecka: +420 606 659 775 We recommend to talk with Mr Pecka about this: - is possible flying on Zlatnik today? - at what time you plan take-off (or better, tell him time interval… e.g. 10-11h) - how many pilots is going with you ZLATNIK LOCAL RULES !!! + ALL-TIME - call LKMO ATC (Mr. Pecka) and ask him for PG traffic clearance - take note, that ATZ Most has heigth up to FL095 (2900m) - behave polite towards nature (because of reservation) and hunters, which you’ll meet and improve relationships with them (if possible) + months: January, February, November, December (out of hunting season) - flying possible at any time - access on start place is possible via any path + months: March - October (in hunting season) - flying window is 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM - access on start place is possible ONLY via old red-marked touristic path or better said “jungle-path†= path is waypointed here: http://mapy.cz/s/cmvW - when prompted by hunter and after he shows you his hunting licence, show him your identity card - don’t shout at your friends when flying, USE RADIOS - flying aroud NW cliff (road side of the Zlatnik) closer than 50meters is prohibited |
access | via Road 13 (between Most and Bilina cities)... leave road on exit to Patokryje villiage but drive on Road 13 Entrance direction to Usti or Bilina and 10m before entrance connects with Road 13, there is a right turn on bumpy asphalt road (you can see it right there on map) to quite large parking in front of cemetery and next to landing zone 50°30'43.561'N, 13°42'9.956'E |
comments | TIPS NOT OLNY FOR FLYING: 1. landing zone has no permanent wind sleeve or something showing wind direction yet – we recommend to bring your own and place it on meadow, somewhere between cemetery and barn ruins – will be usefull (see 7.) 2. have at least 1,5l of fresh water, because hike on take-off is very exhausting for untrained pilots, especially in summer days 3. in season, cancelled red touristic path through wood is only allowed path to take-off, is it really jungle!!! We recommend to all wearing those type of clothing, which covers most of your skin and are light enough to cool you (long sleeves shirt, long legs trousers, hat, etc…), because of: 3a - ticks (1way = 2ticks on your clothes) – my friend went up only with shorts, and on top he saw, that one is sucked into his thihg :((( 3b – nettles, blackberrys, and another spiky vegetation 3b – miniature flat spiders – you can get them off only by a fillip :))) 4. if there is a doubt, that wind started to blow from opposie direction and you are now standing in lee rotor (it happened to us one time), call Mr. Pecka (Most airport ATC), he’ll tell you direction and speed from their wind sleeve 5. takeoff has +- 200° direction, at less thermal conditions apply, the more the wind direction from SW or directly from SW, the better will be flying… and vice versa, the more S, the more :( 5a – direction 240° (corresponding to +- right edge of take-off, when you are looking down from takeoff) = super, thermals come from foreland, “horseshoe†at right side next to take-off can be used for soaring in stronger wind and also for catching thermals 5b - direction 180° (corresponding to +- 3,5km distant concrete brewery silo in the valley) = this situation usually means a fly-down... thermals are too far to sides, because in front of take-off is forest... “horseshoe†next to takeoff are in lee, so we cannot use them and wooded south slope isn’t too steep for soaring 6. prohibited cliff zone you recognize best from your paraglide – when you decide to fly right after take-off, you’ll fly next to „horseshoe“ and then will see a such distinctive corner (above corner is a „small rogalist starting place“) and few meters behind the corner starts prohibited zone (minimum distance of 50meters from cliff)... but we normally don’t fly there, because of stronger winds rushing through valley with road… in windy conditions, you can get trapped here and entire flight ends by landing between the prohibited cliff and road on a narrow meadow, next to the path you went to the hill 7. when landing on landing zone in windy conditions, have on your mind that trees next to cemetery can cause turbulences, wind above road is sucking wind from landing place, so there might be a 90degree wind shift + thermals on landing place can fiddle with wind direction pretty well (so dont forget to place your own wind sleeve on landing) Link to exact “Zlatnik local restriction rulesâ€, including pictures and copy of official decision (only in CZ): http://svazpg.cz/component/content/article/76-info-obecne/445-pravidla-provozu-startovit-zlatnik Link to hunting laws (reffered to ling above), that we should read at least once (only in CZ): http://eagri.cz/public/web/mze/legislativa/pravni-predpisy-mze/tematicky-prehled/100051564.html http://eagri.cz/public/web/mze/legislativa/pravni-predpisy-mze/tematicky-prehled/100051569.html |
