takeoff | There are 2 take off areas. A big one and a small one. It depends on the farmer wich one to take. The big one is also suitable for hanggliders, the small one is not. Ask the farmer wich one to take. If he is nowhere to be found, go to the small one, because normally you will have to start from there. The small starting area can be found by walking up the dirt road. After 4 minutes, you can see a bench to your right, there is the starting area. |

comments | You can fly great from Rottenstein. Everybody always go to the Emberger Alm (a few kilometers away), but flying from Rottenstein works really well. It is not as crowded (far from at) as the Emberger Alm and even though the starting area is at 'just' 1380 meters, great altitude can be achieved. The best way to do this is by flying to the left as soon as you have started. Between the starting area and the first valley on your left hand, you can usually find very good thermals. Be careful not to go to far into the first valley on your left, usually big sink there! |
